AT CAREFIRST COMMUNITY,
we lead with our motto ‘care that feels like family’ and believe in putting people first.
As a patient-led provider, our mission is to deliver compassionate and accessible care that truly makes a difference in people's lives.
We understand that every individual is unique, and we are dedicated to offering support that is as personalised and thoughtful as it is effective.
Founded by Ellice Ruston, whose roots in disability support reach back to 2009, CareFirst Community emerged from a desire to bring genuine, person-centred care into the heart of Mackay and surrounding regions.
Ellice's journey began with her profound experiences as a disability support worker, which later inspired her to pursue a Bachelor of Nursing at CQUniversity. Driven by her passion, she sought to create a service that prioritises the needs and voices of clients.
Having grown her vision from a small community nursing role into a thriving network of dedicated care professionals, Ellice is committed to keeping patients in their homes and out of hospital.
Our team is the heartbeat of CareFirst Community. Comprising a dynamic group of dedicated nurses and support workers, we ensure that every interaction with clients is empathetic and professional.
Our staff cultivates an environment where personalised care is the norm, respect is unwavering, and every client is cherished as a vital member of our community.
In partnership with Private Nursing Services Mackay, CareFirst Community adheres to the highest standards of compliance and service.
We are proudly licensed to offer a comprehensive range of services, including NDIS, Aged Care, and Disability Support. We are also a WorkCover Queensland provider (Provider Number P0007581942).
By collaborating closely with GPs, allied health professionals, support workers, and family members, we ensure that care is both cohesive and holistic, meeting the full spectrum of our clients' needs.
