To qualify for our nursing services, we typically conduct an initial assessment to understand your specific needs and determine eligibility. This process may involve reviews of your medical history, current health status, and any relevant support plans, such as an NDIS plan if applicable.

What if it is an emergency?
In the case of an emergency, please contact 000. For urgent but non-emergency needs related to our services, you can reach out to us directly, and we will make every effort to provide timely assistance.

Do I need a referral?
A referral is not always necessary, though it can be helpful. You can contact us directly to discuss your situation, and we’ll guide you on the next steps. Referrals from healthcare professionals are welcome but not mandatory.

Do you do in-home respite care?
Yes, we offer in-home respite care tailored to meet the needs of both clients and their families. This service is designed to give primary caregivers a much-needed break while ensuring the client receives quality care in their home environment.

Can you help with chores and errands for the elderly?
Absolutely. Our support workers are available to assist with daily living tasks, including chores and errands, to help promote independence and ease for our elderly clients.

My elderly family member needs some help at home. What should I do?
Please contact us for an assessment. Our team will work with you and your family member to identify their needs and develop a customised care plan that ensures they receive the appropriate level of support.

I’ve just come out of the hospital; can I get some help while I recover?
Yes, we offer post-hospitalization care services designed to support your recovery process at home. Contact us to discuss your care plan, and we’ll coordinate the necessary services to assist with your recovery.

Can I access CareFirst Community under the NDIS?
Yes, CareFirst Community is a registered NDIS provider, and our services are available to individuals with an approved NDIS plan. We offer a variety of supports and services tailored to meet the needs of NDIS participants, including community nursing, in-home support, and assessments. If you have an NDIS plan, or need advice on how to start the process, please contact us.
If you, or your loved one is already an approved NDIS patient, please fill in the Client Intake Form if you wish to access CareFirst Community services.

How often do you visit patients?
The frequency of visits depends on individual care plans and client needs. We offer flexible scheduling that ranges from daily visits to weekly check-ins, ensuring that each client receives the necessary care and attention required for their specific situation.

Do you have an office location?
We have an office located in Slade Point opening soon to reduce costs for patients who are able to travel, however we generally visit our patients in the community and in their homes to provide appropriate care and independence.
